Peru
South America
From the food scene of Lima to the Inca stones of Cusco and the terraced fields of the Sacred Valley, Peru is a country best experienced slowly. These are the hotels I love most, destination by destination, each one chosen for how it makes you feel, not just how it looks.

Lima
Almost every trip to Peru begins here: Lima is where you land. But it deserves more than a night at the airport. It is one of the great food capitals of the world, with ocean views, art galleries and a bohemian side in Barranco. Give it at least two nights at the start or end of your trip.
Cusco
The old Inca capital: colonial plazas, cobbled streets and Inca walls at every turn. Stay at least two nights before or after the Sacred Valley.
Sacred Valley
Inca terraces, Andean villages and the train to Machu Picchu. Lower than Cusco, so it is the perfect place to start your trip and acclimatize.
